Emerging Architect Award

The Award recognises young architects who have shown significant contributions to the profession in an early stage of their architectural career. This category is open to Periti who have ten years or less experience at the time when submission for this year’s awards nominations close.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Submissions can only be made by a local warranted Perit who has ten years or less experience at the time when submission for this year’s awards nominations closes.
  • Projects have to be completed between January 2011 and September 2020.

 

Submission requirements

  • The project entry name, site location and planning permit number;
  • An abstract of the project, describing the architect’s design concept intention, supported by a statement outlining the purpose for which the project is intended and why the project is being submitted as an entry for this category.
  • A brief history of the site and any planning constraints that had to be overcome or taken into account in achieving the final design.
  • A minimum of 10 photos of the completed project.
  • A maximum of 10 drawings, sketches, diagrams and photos showing the whole process of the project from concept to the final stage.
  • A minimum of 8 sets of photographs showing the before and after of different viewpoints of the site.
  • Preferably, a three-dimensional digital representation or axonometric to indicate the new work and the original fabric.
