Urban Design Award
For projects where the design of the building/s enriches the existing context through a quality oriented and innovative design approach. The building/s may amongst others be of a residential, social or educational purpose.
Eligibility Criteria
- Submissions can only be made by a local warranted Perit or a practicing firm of architects;
- The projects must have been approved by the Planning Authority after the 1st January 2015 and built, completed and commissioned before the end of September 2020.
Submission requirements
- The project entry name; site location and planning permit number;
- An abstract of the project, describing the architect’s design concept intention, supported by a statement outlining the purpose for which the project is intended and why the project is being submitted as an entry for this category.
- Entry should clearly convey the nature of the surrounding context and the manner by which they relate to it.
- A brief history of the site and any planning constraints that had to be overcome or taken into account in achieving the final design.
- A minimum of 10 photos of the completed project.
- A maximum of 10 drawings, sketches, diagrams and photos showing the whole process of the project from concept to the final stage.
- A minimum of 8 sets of photographs showing the before and after of different viewpoints of the site.
- Preferably, a three-dimensional digital representation or axonometric to indicate the new work and the original fabric.
