This project transformed the historic Mercury House Underground Vaults, a former wartime bunker, into the Me Hotel Spa. The design expertly preserves the original Maltese limestone and tiles while integrating natural materials and soft lighting to create a serene wellness destination. This innovative adaptive reuse honours the site’s heritage, offering a unique sensory experience with features like a cave-like pool and cinematic projections. By blending architectural conservation, interior design, and experiential thinking, the project provides a distinctive amenity that enhances the hotel’s brand and revitalizes a significant historical space, preserving it for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.
