The Ġnien fuq il-Glażiż revitalization project in Vittoriosa demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental sustainability while promoting social sustainability through the provision of a well design green open space. The design prioritizes preserving local flora and fauna by maintaining native plant species crucial for biodiversity and pollinators. It also focuses on soil and water conservation and minimizes plastic use, opting for durable, natural materials like stone and wood that complement the historic setting. Additionally, solar-powered lighting ensures energy efficiency, and recycling stations promote waste reduction. This green infrastructure fosters biodiversity, enhances air quality, and educates the community on environmental stewardship.
